At a ‘Countdown to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023’ event in Mumbai today, the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
Ahmedabad will host the World Cup opener between England and New Zealand on October 5 and the final on November 19.
The ‘largest Cricket World Cup ever’ has nine more locations announced.

The greatest Cricket World Cup ever will include ten nations and will be played across ten venues from 5 October to 19 November, with the tournament opening and final taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune are the other nine locations. The practice games will be held in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, in addition to Hyderabad.
Defending champions England will meet New Zealand in a much-anticipated clash between the 2019 World Cup finalists in Ahmedabad, while hosts India will face five-time winners Australia in Chennai on October 8.

Ahmedabad will also host matches between India and Pakistan on October 15 and Australia and England on November 4.
The Cricket World Cup Super League has qualified eight teams for the 46-day event, with the final two spaces going to the winners of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.
The competition will follow the same round-robin structure as the previous season, with all teams playing 45 league matches against each other. Six-day matches will begin at 10:30 a.m. Indian Standard Time (IST), while all other matches, including the knockouts, will begin at 14:00 IST.
The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, which will be held in Mumbai on November 15 and in Kolkata on November 16. There will be reserve days for the semi-finals and final.
